The City County Building in Madison houses many of Madison’s City government offices. Our team assisted with the demolition and new construction of a completely transformed office suite for Public Health. The project began with a client visioning session leading to planning, programming, architectural, and systems design. The objective was to create a vibrant office reflective of their mission: “Healthy People, Healthy Places.”
Bringing all staff into a single, open office environment outfitted for collaborative meetings and private workspaces, along with amenities and features not previously available, including equitable access to natural daylight, a controlled entrance with a welcoming lobby space, and the use of sustainable materials was a priority.
The design team worked with the project’s core team along with City and County staff to identify spatial needs and requirements for Public Health, parallel to understanding systems requirements within the City County Building.
